HOT, New Ligue De Tanta!!

Yes, as you have read above, the much anticipated Ligue de Tanta is back for the 2012/2013 season with much improvement and excitement. Touted as the most watched league in tanta, this season is expected to provide much more entertainment and drama as the years before did. As the transfer and registration deadlines have already passed, we will give you some inside scoop and what to expect  from the league this season. But before that, lets review back what the league has offered us for the past three seasons.

Most of the headlines from the past seasons clearly tells the story. Only one team has dominated the league the past three years and goes by the name ‘The 8’. Winning three consecutive years is as impressive as the dominance of Manchester United and Barcelona in the English Premier League and La Liga respectively. But with a record of only two losses in all three seasons the likes of the teams mentioned before are completely overshadowed by The 8. Only two teams came close to them namely Matlub Kittun and Alamiyah FC, but The 8 were a far better and superior team than both of them combined.

However, in what is a shock to their fans, this year The 8 aren’t defending the title for a fourth year. Instead the players are going on their seperate ways. Some joining a new team and others just staying put together forming a new team. The team’s captain Asrul ‘Tarbond’ Md Rahim when asked to comment about this decision he said, “It’s just the right time for the team to split up and the players to face new challenges and attain greater achievements elsewhere”.
With the dissolvement of The 8, all roads to the title are open wide and clear. All teams either new or old will be vying their way to the top of the table. The league will surely be competitive as ever which the fans will ultimately indulge upon. The dissolvement of The 8 also caused a ruckus in the transfer window because their players which are regarded the cream of the crop in the league are up for grabs. So the players are being chased by every club in the league for their services. Another team also experiencing the same thing is Batin United. They had to dissolve their club due to their financial incapability to replace increasing number of players that are retiring. The remaining players of Batin United were also being chased by clubs as they were quite the talented bunch.

The most talked about transfers since the transfer window was closed were Che Hanif from Batin United to Keling Legend, Fawwaz Zamri from Batin United to Matlub Kittun and Tarbond from The 8 to Team Engkau FC. Che Hanif’s move to Keling Legend is thought to be an exciting one as he is a lethal striker. His patience and creativity infront of the goal has been proven while playing with his former clubs Alamiyah FC and Batin United previously. He will absolutely add a much attacking approach for Keling Legend. But, already having three strikers namely Haniff Isa, Izwan Izani and the team’s goal machine Tuan Asyraf, it’s quite unsure where he would lie on the team’s lineup. Only time will tell. While all that is happening at Keling Legend, Matlub Kittun and BeWin FC were trying to pen a deal with Batin United’s talisman Fawwaz Zamri. But at the end Matlub Kittun were the victors. A 3 month contract will bring the dead ball specialist to Matlub Kittun and ensure a replacement for the injured marksman Azmee Aziz whom is suffering from a torn cruciate ligament. Matlub Kittun will absolutely be deadly with a set piece taker like him. Another transfer that’s been lingering from peoples’ mouths was Tarbond to Team Engkau FC. He will be a perfect fit in this team as he will be looking to create and score goals for them while also assisting striker Ahmad Fahim at the front. Other notable transfers were Azizan Asmuni from Team Engkau FC to BeWin FC, Hazwan ‘Prop’ Zhafri from The 8 to Keling Legend and new teams to be formed such as Cindai FC and Perawan FC.

A lot of talk has arisen as to which team will succeed in replacing The 8 as champions of  Ligue de Tanta. Football pundits have predicted that Alamiyah FC will win the title because they’ve came close twice. But some are concern that they may not have enough stamina to win it this year as to the overwhelming number of players reaching their retirement age . So, the question that everyone wants to know is  who wil win Ligue de Tanta this season? Season starts on the 17th of November, you’ll get your answer starting from then. Be sure to experience it all!
