TANTA - With only 2 more gameweeks left in the calendar of Ligue de Tanta this season, each and every team are stepping up their game and trying their best to achieve the best possible position in the league standings. The most notable team are BeWin, they have rose to the peak of the standings after winning both their games this week after a class performance from Faris and Fauzi in both games. They won against The Noobs and C.I.N.D.A.I 3-1 and 3-0 respectively. Faris has lately proven that he can also score goals as much as Fauzi can. The duo have netted a total of 19 goals between them, a feat most teams would be envy of.
Alamiyah is another team which has arisen from their slump recently. They have scored a bunch of goals and are up to ninth position in the league standings. Like BeWin their attacking duo of Taufik and Faiz also have scored a total of 19 goals. The latest, they each scored against Pulun Saja in a 2-1 victory.
It wasn't all good news for the big teams as Team Matlub can't seem to find the form they had in the early stages of the season. They went down losing to Carabelli 1-0 earlier on Tuesday and drew 0-0 against Keling Legends on Saturday. Maybe the absence of their goal provider Azmee had a large effect on their mentality.
Carabelli are another team which had great potential to be in the top three but failed to do so. They seem to be lost and not knowing what to do at this stage. Even though they won against Team Matlub but they failed to replicate the same performance against Keling Legends which they drew 1-1 and lost against AFC 1-0. As a result, they are now as low as eleventh in the league standings.
Den Lacoste continued their run of poor performance with two more losses against Espada Ropera and Risoles. They were defeated heavily by Espada with a scoreline of 5-1 and a respected 2-0 loss against Risoles. They are still without a point with only three more matches to play. Risoles on the other hand, were supposedly winners of their game against Pulun Saja by 2-1. Stunning late goals from Ikmal and Faris had the crowd cheering their names. But, later it was understood the match was won automatically by Pulun Saja 3-0 due to a breach of the rules by Risoles.
DDB failed to win a single match this week as they drew against Vallate 0-0 and lost against Brachial Plexus 1-0. But, they had something to cheer about as their keeper Yusri was inducted into Gameweek 17's Dream Team.
Engkau Legend had an up and down week. They lost to Vallate on Tuesday 1-0 due to a goalkeeping error by Hanif Arshad. But they bounced back on Saturday thrashing The Noobs 3-0, goals scored by Tarbond, Syaiful and Aiman. They are currently seventh place in the league standings.
Other matches, Perawan won against AFC 2-1. All goals scored in the dying seconds of the second half. Team Kaki Kuat won against Espada Ropera 2-1 and Vallate went down losing against Pulun Saja 2-0.
There were also postponed matches played on the 28th of February. The results were Team Kaki Kuat won against Pulun Saja and Den Lacoste 1-0 and 3-0 respectively and Keling Legends defeated The Noobs 1-0.
On a different note, this week also marks the last appearances of Tanta futsal legends Ahmad Rusydi, Che Hanif, Zulfahmi Haron, Azhan Hamdan and Fawwaz Zamri together with Shakir Kamaruddin and Safwan Shukor as they've finished their last year in Egypt and will return to Malaysia and serve as real life doctors. The league committee would like to express greatest gratitude for all their contributions and would like to wish good luck in your future endeavours.
Only two more gameweeks left, matches will be played on this Tuesday and Saturday. Make sure to watch the final stages of Ligue de Tanta season 12/13 at Arena Istad and get to know who will be this year's champions.
