THIRD WEEK REVIEW: "COMPETITIVE AS EVER"

TANTA , 1 Dec– This year’s Ligue de Tanta has a knack of producing draw matches, to be exact, ten matches in the last two gameweeks have ended as a draw. It’s unusual to see these number of draws in the early stages of this competition. Maybe it’s because of the increasing level of competitiveness between teams in this league which is a very good sign.

The highlight of this week is Engkau Legend and Team Matlub continuing their impressive form securing another win in gameweek 3. Engkau Legend scoring a late winner against Pulun Saja through their surprisingly improved striker Munzir. He has three goals in two games this season, a record he himself can’t believe he has achieved. Team Matlub are also having a good start to their season winning all their games with a 1-0 scoreline. The latest, they won against The Noobs with Azmee grabbing the match winning goal in the early minutes of the first half. He has been brilliant scoring two goals this season even though still suffering through an injury. Both Engkau Legend and Team Matlub are at the top of the table behind Brachial Plexus.
The hot and sizzling newcomers Brachial Plexus are also making an excellent start to their campaign of the season, losing only once and winning the other three of their games. They are currently the league leaders which have baffled most of the pundits. They played two matches this week, first against Den Lacoste which was played only one half due to the lateness of Den Lacoste arriving at Arena Istad  (LdT players are reminded to come early for their respective games or bare the consequences of being late). The match ended 0-0 but Brachial Plexus were awarded a 2-0 win by the organizers because of DenLacoste lack of discipline. The second match Brachial Plexus had to face was against Unknown FC. It was touted as the match to watch this week as both teams played an entertaining game of futsal. It was end to end action but Brachial Plexus came out as victors at the end as Farid netted his third goal of the season.

Other matches, between Perawan vs BeWin, Carabelli vs C.I.N.D.A.I  and Espada Ropera vs AFC all ended in a 0-0 draw. Vallate vs Team Kaki Kuat was also an entertaining match to watch as they were battling it out neck to neck from the start. Farabi of Team Kaki Kuat broke the deadlock first on the second minute of the first half. But Raja of Vallate responded three minutes later with an absolute beautiful curler. It made the crowd go wild and later everyone were cheering Raja’s name. The goal is absolutely a contender for goal of the season. The match ended a 1-1 draw.
The last game was between Risoles and Keling Legends. Keling Legends were favourites to win this game but a late equalizer, an own goal from Keling Legends’ keeper Fath  gave Risoles a point to salvage.  An absolute scrappy goal produced by a corner taken by Syarifuddin a.k.a Sopi hit the face of the Keling Legends’ keeper and accidently made it to the back of the net. It injured the keeper’s face but sources reported that he has slight bruises and will be fine. Keling Legends’goal was also scored through a corner after Risoles’ defenders failed to mark the players of the opponent team resulting in a simple tap in by Izwan. The scoreline at the end of the game showed a 1-1 draw.

An entertaining third week of Ligue de Tanta. Few goals but a lot of action and drama. Gameweek 4 will be held on this Tuesday. So get ready for another dose of excitement and thrill.
